I have ordered a box kit. What will I receive?
Each kit contains 3 boxes (with prepaid return labels attached), liners, zip ties, and instruction sheet inside of a corrugate shipper. The shippers are plain brown corrugate with no outside markings and measure 37.25” X 27.5” X 1.5”.
I ordered my box kit. How long before I receive it?
All orders should be received in 7 to 10 business days.
I ordered a gaylord kit. When will I receive it?
Gaylords are delivered via tractor-trailer within 7 to 10 business days. Special request (such as a lift gate) or remote locations could require additional time. You will be notified if there will be a delay with your order.
I have ordered a 10 piece gaylord kit. What will I receive?
You will receive 10 octagonal corrugated center tube, 20 lids (to form the top and bottom of the gaylord), and 10 liners. While the gaylord kit will be attached to a pallet, pallets are not provided for the gaylords to return for recycling. Pallets will not be returned.
I have ordered a 30 piece gaylord kit. What will I receive?
You will receive 30 octagonal corrugated center tube, 60 lids (to form the top and bottom of the gaylord), and 30 liners. While the gaylord kit will be attached to a pallet, pallets are not provided for the gaylords to return for recycling. Pallets will not be returned.
How do I use the 'Create Your Own Clean Planet' shipping label?
What do you need to get started?
- Any cardboard box that you have available, the maximum dimensions of 22” x 22” x 15” (be sure to remove any past shipping labels from the box)
- Any plastic bag you have available (i.e. a trash bag)
- Packing tape.
Step 1: Accumulate at least 5 Konica Minolta consumable items (the maximum weight on shipping the label is 20 lbs. which is approximately 14 consumables).
Step 2: Consolidate the items in (no original packaging or cardboard) in a plastic bag, tie the bag.
Step 3: Prepare the box for shipment by taping it closed.
Step 4: Print your shipping label.
Step 5: Adhere/tape the label to the box and give it to your UPS driver they next time they pick-up or drop-off packages at your location or take to your local UPS location. If you need further assistance with a pick-up request click here to schedule a pickup.
How big are the boxes?
Boxes are 13" by 13" by 30". They are designated to sit next to the machine for ease of use.
How big are the gaylords?
Assembled gaylords are approximately 4' by 4' by 4'. Kits have a footprint of approximately 4' by 8'. Height of the kit depends on the number of gaylords you request (10 or 30). 10 piece gaylord kits are approximately 2 feet high and 30 piece gaylords are approximately 4 feet high.
Can I get more than one box?
Each kit contains 3 boxes. You can have 9 boxes outstanding at any time.
How many items fit into a box?
Each box holds an average of 15 to 18 items with no outer packaging (i.e. boxes).
How many items fit into a gaylord?
Each gaylord holds an average of 150 to 250 pieces with no outer packaging (i.e. boxes).
What types of items can be recycled through the program?
Any printing and imaging supply that can be replaced by the customer can be sent for recycling. This includes:
- Toner cartridges
- Toner bottles
- Fusers
- Drums
- Waste Toner Collectors
Can I pass the boxes out other locations/buildings within my company?
For tracking and reporting purposes, we highly recommend not sharing boxes. All reporting is tied to the account the box was ordered under. Also as box quantity is limited, sharing can also restrict you to too few boxes.
Can you send supplies to a PO Box?
We cannot deliver to PO Boxes.
How do I get the boxes picked up?
Boxes have been pre-labeled with UPS return labels. When sealing the box, ensure the label is facing out. Place boxes out at your designated UPS drop spot. If you do not have a regular UPS pickup, you can schedule a free pickup with UPS.
How do I get gaylords picked up?
Schedule your pickup via the website here. Be sure to provide a dock contact who will know the product being picked up once the driver arrives. We will send the bill of lading (BOL) to the dock contact before the carrier arrives to pickup the gaylords.
Do you accept other brands of cartridges?
The recycling program is available for registered Konica Minolta customers. Along with the Konica Minolta branded items, customers can return any brand of toner and ink cartridge for recycling in the Clean Planet box and gaylord programs.
"Create Your Own Clean Planet Box" (low-volume program where you consolidate in your own spare boxes) accepts Konica Minolta branded items ONLY. If you're currently participating in our low volume program and have other brands you'd like to return along with your Konica Minolta material please contact us to get information on our Clean Planet Box Program.
Where is the label located on the box?
The return label is located on the top flap of the box.
If you do not have a label and ordered your boxes prior to May of 2013, you may have older supplies that did not include a pre-affixed label. You can order a single label here.
I was advised I have reached my limit for supplies. Why can't I order more?
To ensure proper use of supplies and limit the environmental impact of the program, the boxes are limited to a maximum of 9 outstanding boxes at a time. Please contact us, if you feel your circumstances warrant additional boxes.
Can I send returns to the program with a carrier other than UPS?
While UPS labels are provided for free, you can send returns for recycling by a different carrier at your own expense. The address is:

What happens to the cartridges when I return them for recycling?
Cartridges are recycled in a zero waste to landfill facility. Commodities, such as plastic, metal, toner and ink are recovered and placed back into the post-consumer market (PCR) commodity market.
Who is Close the Loop?
Close the Loop (CtL) is our recycling partner who collects and recycles on behalf of Konica Minolta.
I have lost the liners. What should I do?
Garbage and other plastic bags are an acceptable substitute, if you have lost your box liners. This contains any excess toner shaken loose during shipping.
My box does not have a return label. How do I get a label to return my box?
Check the top flaps of the box to locate labels. If no labels are present on the flaps, you may have an old program box that did not come with labels pre-affixed. In this case, you can print a single label by clicking here and then selecting the single label option. All future boxes will come with the labels pre-affixed.

Low Volume & Home Office Customers: “Create your own Clean Planet Box”
The Create your own Clean Planet Box is intended for customers who use less than 3 consumables per month. Simply consolidate at least 5 Konica Minolta consumables in your own spare box (any box that you have on hand is fine to use), affix the UPS shipping label after printing it from this website, and ship. Please note: that this return method accepts Konica Minolta branded material only.
Mid-sized customers: “Box Program”
The Box Program is ideal for customers who utilize between 4 and 200 cartridges per month. Each order includes 3 individual recycling boxes that are designed to hold 10 to 15 items (when placed into the recycling box without the original packaging). The boxes come complete with pre-affixed return UPS labels. When a box is full, simply secure the liner with the included zip ties, tape the lid, and schedule a pick up through UPS.
High-volume customers: “Gaylord Program”
The Gaylord Program is specifically for customers who use a large volume of consumables each month (greater than 200 pieces) and have the space to use a 4’ by 4’ by 4’ gaylord. Konica Minolta can arrange for the delivery and pickup of recycling pallets that hold a larger quantity of consumable items. Customers who lack the space can utilize the box program instead. Material should be placed into the lined gaylord without any original packing. To schedule a pick-up, contact us. Please note: gaylord kits are shipped via tractor-trailer and are roughly a 4’ by 8’ footprint on a single skid. Gaylords, liners, and lids are provided; however, the pallets needed for return are not provided
